SRS fan support or what do you guys do to run fans on the sim?

Hello, I just installed the Sim Racing Studio fans to cool me down a bit and have some benefit of variable wind speed based on telemetry.  But I think this is where I am getting into trouble.  I sent a ticket to SRS but while I wait...

basically when I run their SRS app the RC4 seems to get messed up as the SRS app also can do motion and the rig clicks and moves.  I can close the SRS app and the RC4 goes back to moving fine.  But this means I can use the fans as intended.  Any suggestions?

Hi 7 Racer,

The SRS app is not supported when you use the RacingCUBE RC4v2/v3 and we cannot do anything about it with a software update, unfortunately.

The SRS software seems to broadcast to all COM ports in the system using the same chip. While this might seem like an easy solution to them, unfortunately it can mess up other systems. We do not use the chip on our newest RC4-CR models, but you will need to change it. Please write to support@fasetech if you are interested, depending on your model it can be an easy task.

The easiest way SRS could solve it, is by using the same system SimTools uses; by dedicating a certain COM port to their hardware.

Note that SimTools 3.0 will be available within months which will change the game completely regarding motion software. You can see beta pictures and read more information here: https://manual.fasetech.com/en/updates/simtools-3 We encourage everyone to update once available as the UI will be more intuitive and we will release video guides off it.

Regards
Steffen

@slaze_xe thank you!  you are awesome.  So just to clarify, the new simtools 3.0 wont fix it correct?

If I do the new chip that would fix it?

just an update!

from support at SRS I changed the config settings and now the software works without interfering with RacingCube!

here are the changes for anyone going this route

There are 4 auto_search flags in the config.ini
You need to set to no in the following sections:
[MOTIONBOX]
[MOTION_COMPENSATION]
[BELT_TENSIONER]
keep yes, in the INTELLIBOX section.
That will only look for the intellibox.

Hi 7 Racer,

Sorry I must have missed the notifications from this post.

That is awesome, and I will relay it to others.

I did wish that they would not auto search for a generic chip by default as it would cause issues with quite a lot of products.
