Im getting this error in openvr input emulator when I hit apply.

Could Not Set Device Mode: Device not tracking

Steam vr is reporting my touch (attached to seat) is detected and tracking.

Any help would be appreciated.

You will need to uninstall open Vr, shut down, restart, make sure steam Vr is not running, and reinstall open Vr.

that should fix it, sometimes after steam updates you get this problem occur, I’ve had it a few times.

hope this helps.

That didnt work. Same error.  This is the first time setting up vr so Ive never had it working before.   Im not sure if my sensors are too far away.

They are mounted near ceiling on wall in front of the simulator.   Any other ideas?

thanks

 Hi @dev929

Ive got the Rift working with OpenVR, but also sometimes doesnt pick up or work properly

So my steps to use it are:

Start the game in VR - I use iRacing so not sure about others

Oculus Home will load, you can use this to check your devices are on

SteamVr will then load (Use OpenVR on iRacing)

Start the OpenVr - startdesktopmode.bat

Select your motion compensation and settings, but dont Apply YET

Now check your headset and controller are ON and tracking, usually press a button on the controller

Now Click APPLY

What also happens with the controller, since a recent update is, it goes into standby. Something to do with using Capacitance to detect its in your hand...

Found a quick fix on another forum to use Aluminium Foil 🤣 and put a piece over the buttons, not over the sensor though. Keeps the controller ON all the time.

Let me know if this works.  👍

Hi Andrew, does your setup cancel yaw motion (axis 4) as well? Mine does not.

Cheers

Michael, yes it does cancel Yaw

I'm using 2 sensors in front of me about 600mm higher than the top of the seat, with the controller strapped onto the highest point of the seat.

Check that your controller  stays ON and doesn't go into power save/ sleep
