Ok Tested with Vive Tracker Mounted relatively securely on Top of Carbon Fibre Bucket Seat.
Great News this is now working, I've tuned up the Yaw from 5 to 15 and the pitch from 10 to 30 for testing and its great, what relief. I'm driving the Porsche Ruf Track at Barber, This track has got it all for motion with tight corners, nice hills, some quick some slow, and places you need to use the kerbs, the Tracking is pretty much spot on, still room for a little improvement but more than useable, I will spend the rest of the day tuning the motion rig to get a good field of movement that I can enjoy.
A few pointers so far, I've opted out a Beta, and I'm using the Set Zero setting I think their is a slight improvement with this over using reference tracker.
I cant thank the maker of this enough, Top Man.
I will do a new video today and upload to You tube, watch out for the link.

For those interested, here is a link to the project: https://github.com/matzman666/OpenVR-InputEmulator
Note that according to users in the xsim forums, this does not appear to work well with Rift, but does work with Vive

I've had some bad issues lately. First my front left actuator tipped over the highest point to end up on the other side. It was due to a loose potentiometer. It wrecked a part of the simulator while the movement was opposite. To fasten the pot-meter I needed a very small spanner. As Always the crew helped me quickly. They sent me a spanner (and a new pivot while the other one broke down) and yesterday I repaired the actuator.

I noticed after a test drive that the Actuator front left was off again. I thought I didn’t tighten the pot-meter enough, but that was not the case. It just tipped over again. Also after repairing it again I saw that the front right was slightly off (a little bit lower) so I adjusted that as well.

Back to the topic. I experience (after setting changes) a lot of strange motion. While I have sturdy movement, in chicanes etc. my car will lag at cornering. As to explain: While I’m cornering, the car will drift sideways through the corner. The nose stays too long in the old direction. As I didn’t have it with the other settings, I expect it to be a settings thing, not a motion cancellation thing. But… I can’t find my old settings back where I didn’t have it and… I tried motion cancellation, but I have a Rift and can’t seem to get it working.

Can anyone explain what goes wrong here and give me a push in the right direction. I would love to use the rig in a proper way again.

Thanks.

Hi Patim

sorry to hear your issues, the last steam Vr update really didn’t help and caused some problems, my steam was starting in safe mode, tracking was still ok but didn’t seem right like before, I uninstalled the open Vr emulator, restarted, shut down steam, reinstalled open Vr, restarted, and then run room set up again, that worked for me and got me back on track. This was with the Vive pro set up.
