Motion Cancellation using Oculus not working recently?

Hi all,

I have been enjoying the motion cancellation using my Oculus since September. After being busy for a couple of months, I have just tried again but it looks like the motion cancellation is not working at all (tested using Assetto Corsa and Xplane in SteamVr).

Is anyone getting the same problem? Im just trying to know if it could be a program update issue (Steam, Oculus....) affecting more people or its just me (and a problem with my computer/settings).

Thanks a lot!

Sete.

Hi Sete,

I had the same issue the motion plugin suddenly stopped working, this happened after a steam update.
But after some googling time I found a solution and am glad to share it here.

It's due to a debug build of the openVR drivers, luckily someone recompiled it as a release build 🙂
You can find in the openVR github forum here:
https://github.com/matzman666/OpenVR-InputEmulator/pull/130#issuecomment-442684934
Direct link: https://github.com/matzman666/OpenVR-InputEmulator/files/2627370/driver_vrinputemulator_release_hopefully.zip

I just overwritten the files over the existing drivers (for me they are located here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\)
BUT don't forget to make a backup first just in case of, and bingo I got motion canceling working again.

Hope this works for you as well.

regards,
Dave

Hi Dave,

I have followed your instructions but once done and trying to run the "Steam Vr", I got the green VR headset, controllers and controls symbols in my desktop, but once wearing the Oculus, the Steam Vr environment is not opening, and I can see only the sensors location... any idea??

I have uninstalled the Steam program and reinstalled again, and overwrite the Steam folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR", but same result...

Thanks in advance.

Sete.

Hi Sete,

I'm sorry to hear, I have no experience with the oculus rift as I'm using the HTC vive, I suggest to have a look in the github issues forum of  OpenVR
